E-Cell and Yi-net of Govt. Model Engineering College proudly present the fifth edition of Sociopreneur, with all its glory, in its grandest and most exciting versions till date. Sociopreneur is the annual national level business plan competition, hosted by the Entrepreneurship Cell of Model Engineering College, Cochin aimed at promoting ideas for sustainable social ventures. It is one of the largest social entrepreneurship competitions in South India. Sociopreneur invites the people to come up with innovative plans for social ventures targeting one or more of the several shortcomings of modern-day society. Sociopreneur aims to promote the spirit of social entrepreneurship among the youth and inculcate in them an in-depth understanding of the bottlenecks affecting the nation’s development and the need to find strategic entrepreneurial solutions to these hurdles, thereby helping the society to reform and progress. The fifth edition of Sociopreneur will be conducted on 8th March, 2014 at Govt. Model Engineering College. Entries streaming in from across the nation will be subjected to rounds of thorough and careful evaluation to select the best six teams who will progress to the finals of Sociopreneur 2014. The winners of Sociopreneur shall receive a whopping cash prize of Rs.50, 000 as an economic incentive to bring their ideas to fulfillment.
